Tinubu Unveils Strategic North-East Road Projects for Economic Revival
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has flagged off the rehabilitation of the Bama–Banki and Dikwa–Gamboru Ngala roads in Borno State, describing the projects as strategic investments aimed at improving security, expanding cross-border trade and accelerating economic recovery in Nigeria’s North-East.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the flag-off ceremony on Saturday, the President said the road projects underscore his administration’s commitment to rebuilding critical infrastructure, enhancing regional integration and fulfilling campaign promises to stimulate economic growth through improved connectivity.
The two projects are being executed by Dangote Industries Nigeria Limited under the Federal Government’s Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme, with Dantata & Sawoe Nigeria Limited serving as subcontractor.
Tinubu said the roads would strengthen links between Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad, facilitate the movement of people, goods and services, and support communities recovering from years of insurgency.
He urged stakeholders to work together to ensure the successful completion of the projects, assuring Nigerians that his administration would continue to prioritise infrastructure capable of driving sustainable development.
